Former NFL player and current ESPN analyst Damien Woody had some harsh words about the Miami Dolphins after their loss to the Houston Texans in Week 15.

Miami lost Sundayโ€™s game 20-12, falling to 6-8 on the season in the process. Now, the Dolphins need to win out just to finish over .500 on the season and are in serious danger of missing the playoffs.

According to NFL.com, they have just a six percent chance to make the postseason. If the Dolphins do miss the playoffs, itโ€™ll be the first time that theyโ€™ve done so in three seasons with Mike McDaniel as the franchiseโ€™s head coach.

McDaniel has yet to win a playoff game, as the Dolphins lost to the Buffalo Bills in the 2022 season and the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2023 season in their opening playoff games.

Last season, Miami went 11-6, but it has taken a bit of a step back in the 2024 campaign.

Part of the reason for Miamiโ€™s struggles is the fact that starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missed four games this season after he played in all 17 regular-season games in the 2023 campaign.

Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, and he proceeded to miss Miamiโ€™s next four games. The Dolphins went 1-3 over that stretch with Skylar Thompson, Tim Boyle and Tyler Huntley getting snaps under center.

While the Dolphins have played better since Tagovailoa returned, it hasnโ€™t been enough for them to get back in the mix for a playoff spot. They are currently two games back of the Los Angeles Chargers (8-6), who currently hold the seventh and final playoff spot in the AFC.

Woody isnโ€™t the only person frustrated with the Dolphins.

Star receiver Tyreek Hill reportedly sounded off after Sundayโ€™s loss in the locker room.

โ€œThis was supposed to be our year,โ€ Hill said.

The Dolphins finish up the season with games against the San Francisco 49ers (Week 16), Cleveland Browns (Week 17) and New York Jets (Week 18). Thereโ€™s a chance they could win all three games, as all three of those teams are currently under .500 on the season.
