The 2024 college football season has arrived, which means NFL teams like the Miami Dolphins have their eyes peeled on players all over the country who could have futures in the league.
According to various reports, the Dolphins were represented at multiple early-session games on Saturday, including a marquee matchup between the University of Georgia and Clemson University.
The Dolphins also had scouts in attendance at multiple college games on Friday.
As the college season continues, it’s a safe bet that the Dolphins will be in attendance at countless games. They could be looking for players that interest them in the 2025 NFL Draft or possibly drafts after that, with college games often featuring a wide variety of players who are draft-ready or multiple years away.
Miami just had a draft in which it selected seven players, headlined by the team’s top pick, Chop Robinson. He came off the board at No. 21 overall and is certainly hoping to make an impact for the Dolphins in his upcoming rookie season.
But it’s never too early to start scouting for the future, and the Dolphins clearly recognize that. It has been a busy day of college football, and the action will continue with games on Sunday and Monday.
Meanwhile, Miami is also getting ready for the start of its own regular season, which is quickly approaching. The Dolphins now have under 10 days remaining before their season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 8.
Mike McDaniel’s squad is likely motivated to make a statement this coming season after two straight first-round exits in the playoffs. While there’s no way for the Dolphins to slay their playoff demons over the course of their 17-game regular season, they know that they’ll need to take care of business in the coming months in order to have a chance for postseason redemption.
Meanwhile, the 2025 NFL Draft is set for late April in Green Bay, an event that fans will want to circle on their calendars once it gets closer.
