Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is making the rounds on social media for his appearance as he was recently seen rocking a new look.
McDaniel took the head-coaching reigns from Brian Flores ahead of the 2022 campaign, and Miami has been one of the more successful regular-season teams in the league since the start of his tenure.
The Dolphins have won 20 of their 34 regular-season games under McDaniel. Only eight other teams in the NFL have won more regular-season games during that span, with the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs all in a tie for the top spot with 25 victories apiece.
Miami also is fresh off what was an impressive 2023 regular season. With McDaniel leading the team from the sidelines, the Dolphins won 11 of their 17 games and were seemingly primed to win even more games if it weren’t for a slump at the tail end of the season.
The squad held an 11-4 record through its first 15 games of the season but wrapped up its 17-game slate with losses to the Baltimore Ravens on Dec. 31 and Buffalo Bills on Jan. 7. Miami’s loss to the Bills stands out as the more consequential of the two, as Buffalo finished the season with the same record as the Dolphins but clinched the AFC East thanks to the fact that the squad owned the tiebreaker.
Plus, the Dolphins’ subpar play in the last two games of the regular season seemed to carry over into their playoff matchup versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Miami’s offense — which was one of the best in the NFL during the regular season — put together an unremarkable performance, as it mustered just seven points while the Chiefs scored 26.
Here’s hoping that McDaniel will finally be able to coach the Dolphins to a playoff victory in his third season with the team.
