Tyreek Hill takes note of Dolphins fans calling him ‘ticking timebomb,’ suggesting to trade him

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill took notice of some negative comments, possibly to help motivate him in the 2024 season, on social media recently.

Hill liked several posts that talked about various topics, including his contract, the Kansas City Chiefs’ success without him and a call for the Dolphins to consider trading the eight-time Pro Bowler.

After spending the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Chiefs, Hill was traded to Miami ahead of the 2022 season. While the star wideout has put up big numbers on the Dolphins, it’s been the Chiefs who have seen more team success since Hill was traded.

Kansas City has won back-to-back Super Bowls, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been able to make due with different weapons over the last two seasons.

Tight end Travis Kelce has remained a fixture in Kansas City, but players like Mecole Hardman, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Rashee Rice, Kadarius Toney and others have stepped up to make plays in the passing game for Kansas City over the last two seasons.

Hill has had a ton of success playing with Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, putting up 1,710 receiving yards in the 2022 season and an NFL-best 1,799 receiving yards last season. Hill also led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in the 2023 campaign with 13.

It was recently reported that Hill has been looking to land a new deal in Miami since the end of the 2023 campaign.

Hill is currently under contract through the 2026 season, after signing a contract worth over $100 million with Miami after he was acquired from Kansas City.

One of the posts that Hill liked questioned how much Miami could truly receive in a trade of Hill due to his contract. Hill has a cap hit of over $31 million in the 2024 season, over $34 million in the 2025 season and over $56 million in the 2026 season, according to Spotrac.

Since acquiring Hill, the Dolphins have made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, but they have yet to win a playoff game.

In the 2022 season, Tagovailoa missed the team’s playoff game against the Buffalo Bills due to a concussion, and Miami was actually forced to start then-rookie quarterback Skylar Thompson in the game.

Last season, the Dolphins lost to the Chiefs 26-7 in the first round of the playoffs.

There’s no doubt that Hill has been an impact player that has helped the Dolphins succeed on offense, and it’s possible that the posts he liked will be used to motivate him going forward in his career.
