De’Von Achane’s latest social media message should scare the rest of the NFL

Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane is coming off a phenomenal rookie campaign, but it seems like he’s ready to take a major step forward this coming season.

The 22-year-old recently took to Instagram to share a message that will likely get Dolphins fans hyped.

In the 2023 campaign, Achane racked up 800 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 103 carries. He was also a threat through the air, catching 27 passes for 197 yards and three scores.

Many fans were excited about his potential before the season, but there likely weren’t that many fans expecting him to take off the way he did.

The speedster missed a total of six games during the season as he dealt with some injury troubles. Some worry about his durability due to his small frame (listed at 5-foot-9 and 188 pounds), but it seems like he’s bulked up a bit in the offseason.

Having Achane available for an entire regular season will surely only help the Dolphins, who lost two of the six games he didn’t appear in.

A third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Achane formed a solid one-two punch with Raheem Mostert last season. Mostert carried the ball 209 times for 1,012 yards and a league-leading 18 touchdowns, earning the first Pro Bowl appearance of his career. Achane and Mostert will likely be focal points on offense once again in the upcoming campaign.

Miami’s offseason workout program began back on April 15 and includes nine practices over the months of May and June. OTAs are set to take place in late May, while mandatory minicamp will start on June 4 and run through June 6.

For the past two seasons, the Dolphins have made it to the playoffs. However, they’ve lost in the first round each time, with their 2022 season ending at the hands of the Buffalo Bills and their 2023 season coming to a close against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Achane and the Dolphins are hoping they can at least win a playoff game this coming season. Perhaps a rookie the team selects in the 2024 NFL Draft will be able to help the squad.

Miami has six picks in the upcoming draft, which is set to start on April 25 and run through April 27.

  • Round 1, Pick 21
  • Round 2, Pick 55
  • Round 5, Pick 158
  • Round 6, Pick 184 (from CHI)
  • Round 6, Pick 198
  • Round 7, Pick 241

Only time will tell if the team finds a rookie as impactful as Achane.
