Tyreek Hill puzzled after Floyd Mayweather reveals he paid IRS over $18 million

When boxing legend Floyd Mayweather recently shared that he had to pay the IRS over $18 million in taxes, many focused on the amount he had to cough up, but something else caught the eye of Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill.

Mayweather posted a picture of a check that seemingly implied he had over $18 million in his Wells Fargo account, and Hill couldn’t get past it.

It’s unclear if the check Mayweather posted was real, but Hill expressed his surprise regardless.

While Mayweather probably isn’t thrilled about giving up over $18 million, he’s estimated to have a net worth in the hundreds of millions, so he’ll likely be okay.

As for Hill, he just wrapped up his second season with the Dolphins, who are paying him handsomely as well. The organization is certainly getting some bang for its buck, as Hill has been a major addition to the squad.

This season, he led the NFL in receiving yards (1,799) and receiving touchdowns (13) despite missing a game. He was an explosive part of Miami’s offense, which led some to believe that the team was capable of making some serious noise in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the Dolphins stumbled to close the regular season, and their struggles continued in the playoffs, as they took a first-round exit at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs.

While the Dolphins have made the playoffs in both of Hill’s seasons with the organization, they’ve yet to win a playoff game with him. In fact, Hill was likely in elementary school the last time Miami earned a playoff victory, as it hasn’t happened since the 2000 season.

The wide receiver is certainly motivated to change that. He and the Dolphins will look to take a step forward in the 2024 season.

In the meantime, the NFL world has its eyes on Sunday’s Super Bowl, where the team that ended Miami’s season will look to make a statement against the San Francisco 49ers. With the Chiefs being Hill’s former team, he may have some mixed emotions about the contest, but it figures to be a competitive matchup.
