Report: Miami Dolphins aren’t buying idea that Buffalo Bills will have more fans at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday

The Miami Dolphins reportedly aren’t buying the idea that the Buffalo Bills will have more fans at Hard Rock Stadium than Miami will on Sunday.

“The idea that Buffalo Bills fans will outnumber Miami Dolphins fans at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Sunday evening is making headlines everywhere,” Armando Salguero wrote.

“But the Dolphins don’t buy it.”

The team apparently believes estimates are being exaggerated regarding the amount of support Buffalo will have at the game.

“The Dolphins believe all the estimates out there are ‘grossly exaggerated,’ a club source told OutKick on Friday,” Salguero wrote. “So the Dolphins doubt there could be anywhere close to reported estimates of 32,000-to-33,000 Bills fans in the seats out of a sellout crowd of 65,326.”

The Dolphins have been an elite home team all season long. Miami owns a 7-1 home record at the moment, which is the best home record in the AFC East division and second-best home record in the entire AFC. The Cleveland Browns are the only AFC team with a better home record at 8-1.

Miami’s only home loss of the 2023 regular season so far came against the Tennessee Titans last month. The Dolphins lost to the Titans by a final score of 28-27 after an incredible comeback from Tennessee in the fourth quarter.

The Titans trailed Miami by 14 points with less than three minutes to go in the game but went on to outscore the Dolphins 15-0 the rest of the way. Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis came up big for Tennessee, seeing as how he finished the game with 327 passing yards and one passing touchdown on 23 completed passes.

In that game, Levis arguably outplayed Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who ended up with 240 passing yards and zero passing touchdowns. The 25-year-old will look to avoid a similar performance this weekend.

Sunday’s matchup between the Dolphins and Bills will decide who wins the AFC East. The Dolphins currently hold the division’s top record at 11-5, but the Bills are right behind them in the standings at 10-6.

Here’s to hoping that the Dolphins will be able to wrap up their successful 2023 regular season on a high note with a win against a good Bills team that has been hot over the last month or so, as evidenced by Buffalo’s four-game winning streak which dates back to Dec. 10.
