Report: Jalen Ramsey in danger of missing Miami Dolphins-Baltimore Ravens game

Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey is in danger of missing the team’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Dec. 31. Ramsey is questionable to play with a knee injury.

The cornerback is in his first season as a member of the Dolphins franchise. Before he was traded to Miami, Ramsey spent time playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars — who drafted him in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft — and Los Angeles Rams.

In eight appearances (all starts) with Miami so far during the 2023 regular season, the 29-year-old has accumulated 16 combined tackles, 14 solo tackles, and two assists on tackles. He has also racked up three interceptions.

Ramsey suited up in the Dolphins’ matchup against the Dallas Cowboys back on Dec. 24. He finished with four solo tackles in a game Miami won by two points to improve its record to 11-4 on the season.

Miami’s victory over the Cowboys on Christmas Eve marked the team’s second win in a row. The Dolphins also beat the New York Jets at home by a final score of 30-0 on Dec. 17.

The Dolphins’ upcoming game against the Ravens is the second to last game on Miami’s regular-season schedule. Baltimore holds the best record in the entire AFC conference at the moment at 12-3 and is one of the hottest teams in the NFL, seeing as how the team is on a five-game winning streak.

After taking on star quarterback Lamar Jackson and company, the Dolphins will take on the Buffalo Bills — who own the second-best record in the AFC East behind Miami — on Jan. 7 to wrap up the 2023 regular season. Miami lost its first matchup against the Bills this season by 28 points on Oct. 1 in what was also the Dolphins’ first loss of the season.

If Ramsey is unable to play for Miami on Sunday, it could spell trouble for the Dolphins. After all, he is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL as well as one of the top defensive players on the team.
