There has been a major update regarding Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry’s status for Tennessee’s Week 14 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.

On Monday morning, it was reported that Henry’s status for the game was in question due to the star back being in concussion protocol. However, as it turns out, Henry is currently not in concussion protocol, according to Titans coach Mike Vrabel. As a result, he’s on track to play against Miami on Monday night.

The Titans will obviously be very happy to have Henry available for the game against the Dolphins, as he’s an enormous part of their offensive attack. He has led the NFL in rushing yards on two previous occasions (the 2019 and 2020 seasons), and he’s second this season behind Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers.

On 197 carries so far this season, Henry has amassed 841 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.

Henry might be good to go, but the Titans will be missing a couple of contributors against Miami due to injury issues. Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is expected to miss some time with a knee injury, and punter Ryan Stonehouse will have season-ending surgery after suffering an apparent leg injury against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

The Dolphins will enter the game against the Titans riding a three-game winning streak and sitting atop the AFC East with an impressive 9-3 record. They lead the NFL in yards per game and passing yards per game, and they appear to be well on their way to a postseason appearance.

The Titans, on the other hand, are coming off an overtime loss to the Colts and sit at the bottom of the AFC South with a record of 4-8.

The game between the Dolphins and Titans will take place at Hard Rock Stadium, and that should work in the Dolphins’ favor, as they are a perfect 5-0 at home this season. They’re one of just two teams without a home loss along with the Dallas Cowboys.

Meanwhile, the Titans have yet to win a road game this season (0-6). The Carolina Panthers are the only other team in the NFL that hasn’t won a road game.

The Dolphins and Titans last played against each other on Jan. 2, 2022. Tennessee pulled out a 34-3 victory in that game, so it’s safe to say that Miami may be looking to earn some revenge.
