NFL world goes nuts over Jevon Holland’s pick-6 for Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets

The Miami Dolphins are looking to grab an important win on the road against the New York Jets on Friday, and Jevon Holland helped his squad’s cause in a major way before time expired in the first half.

With two seconds remaining in the second quarter, Jets quarterback Tim Boyle threw a prayer to the end zone from beyond midfield.

The pass fell right into Holland’s arms, and the 23-year-old took it 99 yards in the other direction for a Dolphins touchdown to end the half.

The NFL world had a lot to say after Holland made the stunning play.

Holland entered the game with zero interceptions this season, but he now has one very big one. It also goes down as the first touchdown of his NFL career, and it’s certainly one that he’ll never forget.

Holland had two interceptions as a rookie and two during his sophomore campaign. If he wants to finish his third NFL season with two as well, he’ll need to get one more before the regular season ends.

The Dolphins are hoping to move to 8-3 on the season by earning a win in New York. Miami is looking to build its lead atop the AFC East and eventually win its first division title since the 2008 season. The squad is currently in good shape to do so.

It’s no secret that the Dolphins have been lethal offensively this season, but if their defense can regularly come up with plays like the one Holland made to end the first half on Friday, Miami is going to be a very tough out during the playoffs.

The Dolphins and Jets will meet one more time later this season in Week 15. If Miami secures a win on Friday, it’ll have a chance to sweep New York in a few weeks.
