Jalen Ramsey breaks silence on Miami Dolphins debut inching closer

Jalen Ramsey was activated from injured reserve by the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, and the All-Pro cornerback took to social media to trumpet the news.

Responding to a post from Deion Sanders in particular after news broke that he was activated, the 29-year-old referenced the 93 days that he has been sidelined by a knee injury suffered at an early training camp practice.

Though still listed as questionable on the latest injury report, it seems almost certain that Ramsey will finally get to make his Dolphins debut on Sunday against the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium.

A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Ramsey was acquired by the Dolphins in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams this offseason. He was expected to play opposite Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard and give a huge boost to the defensive backfield under new coordinator Vic Fangio.

However, that plan was delayed after Ramsey suffered the injury in July. He maintained throughout his recovery that he would return quicker than doctors thought he would. In fact, one report earlier this week stated the Dolphins were targeting their game on Nov. 19 against the Las Vegas Raiders following a bye week for Ramsey to finally suit up. But it looks like his long-awaited debut is about to come on Sunday.

The Dolphins certainly could use the jolt after they were handled by the Philadelphia Eagles in a 31-17 loss last Sunday night. It was only their second defeat in seven games, but both have come against some of the better teams in the NFL (the other was a 48-20 defeat to the Buffalo Bills in Week 4).

Miami leads the AFC East but has not defeated a team with a winning record this season. The Dolphins have already knocked off the Patriots this season (24-17 in Week 2), and New England comes into Sunday with a 2-5 record after upsetting Buffalo last week.

Facing a team with a middling passing game might be just the way to break in Ramsey for his season debut. But no matter the opposition, the dynamic star certainly seems very excited about this upcoming opportunity.
