NFL insider offers clarity on Tyreek Hill claiming to have been fined more than $100K by league

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill reportedly has been fined for uniform policy violations this season.

The star has been fined a “significant amount,” but it is reportedly less than the $100K that Hill said he’s been fined.

Hill posted on social media on Tuesday that the league had fined him more than $100K, but he did not share the reason why.

The fine for Hill is not related to his touchdown celebration against the New York Giants where he attempted to give the ball to his mother, who was in the stands at the game.

The star wideout shared the plan for his celebration following Miami’s win in Week 5 against New York.

“My mom told me before the game when we was riding over here, she was like, ‘I need to be a part of your touchdown celebration today,’” Hill said. “I was like, ‘Momma, I’ma get fined.’ She was like, ‘I don’t care about that. I just need to be a part of today. Make it about momma.’

“So I scored. I was calling her down. She was making her way down, and when I gave it to here, a guy took it. Somebody took it. But my mom, she a bulldog.”

It’s great to see that Hill involved his mother in the touchdown celebration and that the league didn’t decide to fine him for that.

However, the Dolphins star is going to want to be careful about his uniform decisions if he wants to avoid these fines in the future.

This season, Hill has been elite for the Dolphins, and he showed why in Week 5 against New York.

Hill had yet another massive showing in that game, catching eight passes from Tua Tagovailoa for 181 yards and a touchdown. He made a 69-yard touchdown catch where he burned the entire New York secondary.

For the 2023 season, Hill has 36 receptions on 49 targets. He’s leading the NFL with 651 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. Through five weeks, Hill is averaging 130.2 yards per game.

The Dolphins are hoping the star wideout can keep up that pace as the team looks to compete for one of the top spots in the AFC this season.

Miami is currently 4-1 and leading the AFC East heading into Week 6 of the 2023 season.
