Tyreek Hill sends recruiting pitch to NFL players as new football event will be added to 2028 Olympics

Amid news that flag football is expected to be added to the 2028 Olympics, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill sent a message to his fellow NFL players in hopes of setting the United States up to win gold at the event.

If Hill’s message is an indication that he’d be interested in participating in the event, that could be a notable development considering some past comments he has made about his future. Earlier this year, he said that he plans to retire after the 2025 season.

Since then, he has softened his stance somewhat, saying in July that he thinks he can play football forever.

“I can continue to play this game for forever, I feel like,” said Hill. “I’m feeling great. Obviously I’m still fast.”

But he may still have plans of an early retirement, something that the Dolphins certainly need to keep in mind. The former fifth-round pick is in his second season with Miami after spending the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Flag football is sure to draw some eyeballs in 2028 if it does indeed end up in the Olympics. The U.S. would certainly be in good shape if some NFL players were to play in the event.

Hill doesn’t have an Olympic gold medal to his name, but he did earn some non-Olympic medals while running track in international competition when he was younger.

Of course, he also owns a Super Bowl ring, which he earned during his stint with the Chiefs. It came in the 2019 season, and he played a major role along the way.

Now, he’s looking to win another Super Bowl — this time with the Dolphins. The seven-time Pro Bowler is off to a fantastic start this season, as he leads the league in receiving yards (651) and receiving touchdowns (five).

His squad has been similarly impressive, with the Dolphins currently first in the AFC East with a 4-1 record. Miami is trying to win the division for the first time since the 2008 season, and the team is certainly trending in the right direction right now.

It sounds like the 2028 Olympics will give football fans something to be excited about, but in the meantime, the NFL has the floor.
