Miami Dolphins RB coach fills ‘complete back’ De’Von Achane with praise

Miami Dolphins fans haven’t exactly gotten a close look at running back De’Von Achane yet, but that hasn’t stopped him from impressing members of the organization behind the scenes.

Eric Studesville, running backs coach of the Dolphins, recently had some very good things to say about the youngster.

Achane missed Week 1 of the season and played a limited role in Week 2. In his first regular season action, he got one carry for five yards and caught one pass for four yards.

The rookie could see a bigger role in Week 3 behind Raheem Mostert with Miami a bit banged up at the running back position. Achane is no stranger to carrying a big load, as he was a star running back in college at Texas A&M University.

Certainly, some of the optimism surrounding the third-round pick comes from the fact that he was so impressive in college. During his final season at Texas A&M, he rushed for 1,102 yards and eight touchdowns across 10 games, averaging 5.6 yards per carry.

During his entire stint with the Aggies, he was incredibly efficient, averaging 6.4 yards per carry overall.

The Dolphins scored 36 points in Week 1 this season and 24 points in Week 2. When things are firing on all cylinders for Miami, its offense is very hard to slow down, and anything that Achane brings to the table will make the Dolphins even more dangerous.

Week 2 marked a big step forward for the Dolphins from a rushing standpoint. After rushing for just 70 yards in total in Week 1, they went for 145 last week, thanks in large part to Mostert’s 121.

If the Dolphins can get their passing and rushing attacks to complement each other, it’ll open up all sorts of avenues for success on offense.

Miami is currently getting ready for its Week 3 contest against the Denver Broncos, who are winless so far this season. The Dolphins are already the only undefeated team remaining in the AFC East and have a chance to further assert themselves as threats to win the division by starting 3-0.

Achane would surely love nothing more than to help the team get there.
