Miami Dolphins release extensive injury report ahead of Week 1 matchup vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Miami Dolphins released their first injury report for their Week 1 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers on Wednesday.

Offensive tackle Terron Armstead did not practice with back, ankle and knee injuries. Hopefully the veteran will be able to suit up since the Chargers have a strong pass rush that features Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was listed as a limited participant with an oblique injury.

The Dolphins did get some good news in their running back room as rookie De’Von Achane (shoulder) and veteran Salvon Ahmed (back) were both listed as full participants. That’s a great sign for the Dolphins since Jeff Wilson Jr. is already on injured reserve and will miss this game.

Elijah Campbell (knee, did not practice), Justin Bethel (knee, limited), Julian Hill (ankle, limited), Raekwon Davis (elbow, full), Liam Eichenberg (ribs, full), Brandon Jones (knee, full) and Connor Williams (knee, full) were also listed on the injury report.

It’s a good sign to see players like Davis, Eichenberg, Jones and Williams listed as full participants, as it puts them in a great spot to play in Week 1.

Miami has been bitten by the injury bug early on in the 2023 campaign, as the team already lost star cornerback Jalen Ramsey for a good chunk of the season after he underwent knee surgery earlier this offseason.

Kader Kohou has been tabbed as the replacement for Ramsey on the team’s depth chart. He will start alongside Xavien Howard at the cornerback spot in Week 1.

The Dolphins are hoping they can have as many players healthy as possible for Week 1 in what should be a good game against Los Angeles.

The Chargers and Dolphins both made the playoffs last season, and it’s likely they will both be fighting for a playoff spot in the AFC this season as well.

Miami went 9-8 in the 2022 season, but the team went just 1-3 in the four games that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missed due to the multiple concussions he suffered last season. The team is hoping that it can take a step forward if the former first-round pick stays healthy for the whole season.

The Dolphins and Chargers are scheduled to kick off on Sunday, Sept. 10 in Week 1.
