Micah Parsons says only person who will ‘pay’ for Twitter beef with Tyreek Hill is Tua Tagovailoa

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill recently engaged in some Twitter beef with Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, with Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa inadvertently becoming part of the back-and-forth banter.

Parsons’ praise of Andrew Whitworth was an otherwise innocuous offseason post that likely would have been lost in the sea of social messages.

Instead, Hill decided to inject some trash-talk, which only led Parsons to point to the pending Week 16 matchup between the Dolphins and Cowboys.

Not long after that exchange, Parsons also pointed to his win last year in a race. That event came against a group of other NFL stars that included Hill, who was still a member of the Kansas City Chiefs at the time.

While Hill may have come up short in that particular race, it’s doubtful that many other players can beat him in any competition of that nature.

Hill’s speed and prolific receiving played big roles in helping get the Dolphins to the playoffs last season. During the regular season, he caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns. He then added seven catches for 69 yards in the playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Parsons’ role in the Cowboys’ defense is to serve as an edge rusher. In his two seasons in the league, he has compiled an impressive number of sacks, collecting 26.5.

Last season, Parsons defended three passes while also forcing three fumbles and recovering three fumbles.

That prowess on the field is why Parsons brought up Tagovailoa’s name. Even though Parsons likely needs no motivation to prepare for games, it’s clear he wanted to point out to Hill that Tagovailoa might be in his crosshairs later this season.

Tagovailoa has no doubt heard similar talk in the past by opposing defenders, though the timing of the Dolphins-Cowboys game might garner more attention from him.

That’s due to the fact that Tagovailoa suffered a concussion on Christmas Day last year against the Green Bay Packers. His post-concussion performance played a part in the Dolphins’ loss that day, and his season subsequently came to an end.

The Week 16 matchup between the Dolphins and Cowboys is set to take place on Dec. 24 in South Florida.

Hill and Parsons may end up returning to their trash-talking over the next few months, given all the free time they currently have. However, once training camp gets underway, the focuses of the two players will inevitably be zeroed in on their respective teams.
