Report: River Cracraft gets new deal with Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have had a very busy offseason thus far, and they’ve made sure to both add and retain talent across the roster.

The latest example of that came on Friday when the Dolphins reportedly signed wide receiver River Cracraft to a new deal.

Despite going undrafted, Cracraft has managed to carve out a nice career for himself so far. He spent two seasons with the Denver Broncos before sticking with the San Francisco 49ers for both the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

He was with Miami last season and recorded nine receptions for 102 total yards and two scores. He appeared in a career-high 11 games.

For the most part, he didn’t return kicks or punts last season for the Dolphins, but he did assume that role at different points for both the Broncos and Niners.

It will be interesting to see if his role with Miami grows at all in the upcoming season now that the Dolphins have committed to him for at least the 2023 campaign.

When it comes to the rest of the wide receivers on the Dolphins roster, the unit is obviously led by one of the most talented duos in the NFL in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The two enjoyed stellar years as teammates in the 2022 campaign, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa also benefited immensely from that high level of talent.

Recently acquired wide receiver Braxton Berrios has a good chance to make an impact this coming season, with other players like Cedrick Wilson Jr., Erik Ezukanma, Freddie Swain and Braylon Sanders filling out the rest of the unit.

With the offseason well underway, Miami’s 2023 roster is really starting to come into shape. Though the team will make some additions in the upcoming NFL draft, its relatively low number of total picks will definitely impact the roster additions there. That might explain why the Dolphins have been especially active in free agency so far.

As for Cracraft, he is surely happy to know where he’ll be playing ball this coming season.
