Aaron Rodgers’ former teammate believes he will end up with Miami Dolphins or New York Jets

The uncertain future of Aaron Rodgers is going to be one of the most talked about storylines all offseason long.

Rumors have been flying around recently regarding what Rodgers might do, and one of his former teammates recently offered his belief that the legendary signal-caller will end up with the New York Jets or Miami Dolphins.

It seems like Rodgers might be a better fit in New York. After all, they recently hired Nathaniel Hackett, who worked with Rodgers on the Green Bay Packers, to be their new offensive coordinator. Furthermore, they’re in the market for a quarterback, as Zach Wilson has been unable to cement himself as the team’s starter at that position.

New York used four different quarterbacks last season, with three of them starting at least four games. It finished 7-10 and holds the No. 13 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Will Levis and Anthony Richardson are mostly viewed as the four best quarterbacks available in the upcoming draft. They might all be gone by the time the Jets make their selection, so they might be better off searching for a veteran.

As for the Dolphins, they’re not necessarily in the market for a starting quarterback. Prior to their wild-card game against the Buffalo Bills, which ended in a heartbreaking 34-31 loss, it was reported that Tua Tagovailoa is expected to be the team’s starting quarterback in 2023.

Though Miami has yet to decide whether or not to pick up the University of Alabama’s fifth-year option, general manager Chris Grier recently said that the former No. 5 overall pick’s injuries won’t make the team afraid to give him a long-term deal.

Will the Packers trade Rodgers to make way for Jordan Love?

Some believe that it’s time for the Packers to cut ties with Rodgers in order to allow Jordan Love to play consistently. Love hasn’t gotten much playing time in the regular season during his first few seasons in the league, but he did have a nice showing against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst recently offered some interesting comments about Love.

“We’re excited about him,” Gutekunst said.” I think I’ve expressed to a lot of people that he needs to play. That’s the next step in his progression. He needs to play. Jordan’s done a great job working hard, so he’s doing everything we’re asking.

“I just think the [comfort] of the offense and the confidence in it, I guess, is the biggest thing. I think he was just making quicker decisions and just letting it rip a little bit more. And I think he was thinking less and playing more. Certainly, he didn’t get a lot of opportunity during the season to go out there and perform. When he did, we thought he executed very well. But I know just watching him through practice, not only in the offseason last year, training camp, but into the season how he approached the weeks, there was just a different level of intensity week in and week out than there had been prior.”

As the offseason wears on, it will be interesting to pay attention to what Rodgers says and does. It seems like retirement is also a possibility for the four-time MVP.
