Buffalo Bills star safety Jordan Poyer likes social media post linking him to Miami Dolphins

Buffalo Bills star safety Jordan Poyer is set to become an unrestricted free agent this coming offseason, and it seems that he likes the idea of teaming up with Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland.

The Pro Bowler liked a fan’s comment that stated a duo of him and Holland “would be crazy.”

While Poyer certainly would be a splashy addition to the defense, safety isn’t really a huge need for the Dolphins at the moment. Brandon Jones started multiple games alongside Holland this season, and bringing in Poyer would stunt Jones’ growth.

Jones suffered a season-ending ACL injury back in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he’s certainly going to be looking to continue the solid production he had in the 2022 campaign.

The Dolphins are likely better off using their resources to target upgrades at cornerback and linebacker. Plenty of people thought cornerback would be a strong position for the team this season, but it ended up being one that offered plenty of headaches.

Xavien Howard’s level of play was inconsistent all season long, while Byron Jones didn’t play a single snap after undergoing offseason surgery. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Dolphins wound up moving on from Jones in the offseason.

Noah Igbinoghene had another frustrating season, and it might be better if both parties moved on from each other. Kader Kohou was a very bright spot and is a player to watch for the future. He’ll likely play a big role for Miami next season.

As for linebackers, Jerome Baker continues to show that he’s an important part of the team’s future. He recorded 100 combined tackles in the regular season and figures to lead the unit once again next season.

There was plenty of hype surrounding Channing Tindall before the regular season, but he wound up only playing nine defensive snaps all season. He might need another year before becoming a real contributor.

Plenty of Dolphins linebackers are set to become free agents this offseason, so there might be some spots that need filling.

It’ll be interesting to see what players Chris Grier and the rest of the Dolphins front office target in the coming months. Miami has a solid core, and it seems like it’ll be a playoff contender for years to come.

A few new pieces might make it a Super Bowl contender.
