Miami Dolphins release lengthy injury report ahead of wild-card matchup with Buffalo Bills

The Miami Dolphins released their first injury report ahead of their playoff game against the Buffalo Bills this weekend.

Miami listed several players on the report, including quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa (did not participate), Teddy Bridgewater (limited) and Skylar Thompson (full).

Tagovailoa has already been ruled out for the game by Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, and Thompson is in line to get the start. The rookie seventh-round pick started the Dolphins’ 11-6 win over the New York Jets in Week 18.

There are a couple of early concerns on the Dolphins’ injury report, although there is still time for these players to get ready to play against Buffalo on Sunday.

Terron Armstead, the team’s starting left tackle, did not participate in practice on Wednesday, and McDaniel is unsure if he will return to the team this season.

Star pass-rusher Bradley Chubb was also a non-participant in Wednesday’s practice, but he was present with the team.

Running back Raheem Mostert, who did not participate in practice, has not been ruled out by McDaniel yet for Sunday’s game.

If he can’t go, the team would likely turn to Jeff Wilson Jr. to carry the majority of the load in the backfield. With Thompson looking like the team’s starter under center, the Dolphins are going to need their running game to be effective if they want a chance to upset the Bills.

Buffalo comes into this game fresh off of a win against the New England Patriots in Week 18. The win allowed Miami to get into the playoffs as the No. 7 seed, but it also set up a daunting matchup for the team as well.

The Dolphins are hoping that as many players as possible that are listed on the injury report for Wednesday will be able to suit up in Sunday’s game.

This will be the third time that the Dolphins and Bills face off this season. Miami won the first matchup at home by two points while the Bills took the second game in Buffalo by three points.

Tagovailoa played in both of those games, so the Dolphins are facing an uphill battle without him in the playoffs.

The Dolphins and Bills are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday, Jan. 15.
