Josh Allen says he’s ‘pretty positive’ that Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills will meet again in playoffs

Josh Allen broke the hearts of Miami Dolphins fans on Saturday after leading the Buffalo Bills to a comeback win over Miami.

However, he might have given Dolphins fans a reason to get their hopes up by stating that he’s “pretty positive” the division rivals will meet again in the playoffs.

“That’s a really good football team,” Allen said of the Dolphins. “Who knows if we’ll see them again. I’m pretty positive we will. That third quarter is not where we want to be, but again, that fourth quarter, guys made plays, stepped up, found a way to win.”

The Bills have been on a tear since the start of Week 11, winning their past five contests to become the first team in the AFC to clinch a playoff spot. Their recent win against the Dolphins raised their record to 11-3. On the other hand, Miami suffered its third straight loss to fall to 8-6.

The Saturday contest was a match for the ages, featuring a seesaw battle that ended 32-29 in favor of Buffalo.

After one half, the Bills had an eight-point lead behind three passing touchdowns from Allen. As for Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, he failed to pass for a touchdown in the opening half.

But Miami turned things around after halftime, rallying for a 13-0 third quarter to capture a 26-21 lead. The quarter saw Tagovailoa make up for a slow start by throwing passing touchdowns to Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.

Unfortunately for the Dolphins, Allen had a strong performance in the fourth quarter, finding Bills tight end Dawson Knox with 9:02 left to play for a five-yard touchdown. The quarterback then tied the game at 29-29 by converting on a two-point conversation.

Buffalo then sealed the comeback win on a 25-yard field goal from Tyler Bass.

If the Dolphins had held on, the standings would look much different in the AFC East. Instead of a three-game margin, the Bills would only be up by one game on the Dolphins. But because of the Week 15 result, Buffalo has a comfortable lead over its division rival and is on track to finish first in the AFC East.

As for Miami, it needs to end the 2022 season strong if it wants to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 campaign. The team’s last regular season games will come against the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots and New York Jets.
