49ers players clap back at Raheem Mostert after he takes several shots at them

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert took some shots at his former team, the San Francisco 49ers, in a recent interview, and the 49ers did not hesitate to fire back.

49ers star receiver Deebo Samuel was among those that fired back at Mostert after he made comments about the Dolphins having more talent than the 49ers. Mostert made the comments in an interview with Tyler Dunne, the founder of Go Long.

Samuel did not seem to agree with his former teammate, calling him out on Twitter on Monday.

Mostert and Samuel spent several seasons together and were part of the team that made the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs. Samuel wasn’t the only 49ers play to throw a shot at Mostert, as pass rusher Charles Omenihu offered his thoughts on Mostert and the Dolphins.

To make things even more interesting, the Dolphins and 49ers face off in Week 13 of the NFL season. Both teams are atop their respective divisions, so this should be a terrific matchup.

Mostert came to the Dolphins in the past offseason after injuries derailed his 2021 season with San Francisco.

It seems that the Dolphins running back doesn’t miss certain things about his time with the team, and he seems happy to be playing alongside elite talent on offense such as Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

This season, Mostert has appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins, making eight starts. He missed the team’s win over the Houston Texans in Week 12 with an injury.

The veteran running back has racked up 118 carries for 543 yards and three rushing touchdowns. He also has 17 receptions on the season for an additional 119 yards and a score.

Even though he missed Week 12, Mostert will certainly attempt to get back in the lineup to face his old team and prove some of his old teammates wrong in Week 13.

There may not have been bad blood between the two rosters prior to Mostert’s comments, but he clearly has given the 49ers something to think about heading into Sunday’s game.

The 49ers and Dolphins are scheduled to kick off at 4:05 p.m. EST on Sunday, Dec. 4.
