Bradley Chubb shouts out his agent after securing massive extension with Miami Dolphins

As expected, star pass rusher Bradley Chubb has reportedly agreed to an extension with the Miami Dolphins just two days after being traded to the team by the Denver Broncos.

It’s a deal that puts him amongst the highest paid pass rushers in the NFL today.

After news of the extension broke, Chubb shouted out his agent.

When the Dolphins traded for Chubb prior the trade deadline on Tuesday, it was reported that the team was expected to sign Chubb to an extension. It’s great to see that the team put its money where its mouth is to make sure its new 26-year-old defensive anchor is happy and satisfied going forward.

When it comes to what Chubb will bring to the field, he is certainly going to help a team that hasn’t wowed viewers in terms of its ability to get to the quarterback.

So far this season, the Dolphins defensive unit has recorded just 15 sacks, good enough for the bottom half of the league. Chubb brings his 5.5 sacks to the mix now, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see the team’s overall number in that department increase in the coming games.

However, it is not just about getting sacks.

An increased pass rush for the Dolphins will also lead to a much easier job for linebackers and defensive backs who are tasked with defending opposing skill players. An improved rush gives opposing quarterbacks less time to go through their progressions, which leads to less time to make the right calls.

Though the Dolphins defense has been solid this season, it has suffered numerous injuries in the defensive backfield. Byron Jones has yet to suit up for a single game, and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Hopefully, Chubb’s presence brings the pressure necessary to make those coverage assignments a little more manageable.

With the move, the Dolphins have now signed two major stars to massive deals this year. They signed superstar receiver Tyreek Hill to an extension back in March.

The team is surely hoping that the acquisition of Chubb works out just as well as the Hill acquisition has thus far.

If it does, there is no doubt the Dolphins defense is going to improve substantially.
