Terron Armstead among 7 players listed as inactive for Miami Dolphins on Sunday

The Miami Dolphins are set to face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. It will be a difficult test for the team because it will be without the services of some key players, including those of left tackle Terron Armstead.

Armstead is a key piece in the Dolphins’ offense, as he serves as their anchor on the offensive line. However, the 31-year-old has been dealing with a toe injury since Miami’s season opener against the New England Patriots.

Armstead just missed a full week of practice and will be inactive for the first time this season.

He last played in the Dolphins’ Week 5 matchup against the New York Jets. However, he played a total of eight snaps before exiting the contest.

The news certainly comes as a blow to Miami’s attempt to end a two-game losing streak. After opening the campaign with three consecutive victories, the injury bug has hit the Dolphins hard, which contributed to the team dropping its games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Jets.

In addition to Armstead being sidelined for Sunday’s game against the Vikings, rising star Tua Tagovailoa remains out. He hasn’t played since Week 4.

In his place, rookie quarterback Skylar Thompson will start. Backing the 25-year-old up will be Teddy Bridgewater, who, along with Tagovailoa, cleared concussion protocols recently.

Dolphins fans are surely hoping that the team’s injured players will return soon as the team looks to fight for a playoff spot this season. Miami has not reached the postseason since the 2016 campaign, when it lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in blowout fashion.

First-year head coach Mike McDaniel is looking to end the drought, but he will certainly need healthy bodies in order to do so.
