Miami Dolphins players distribute hurricane relief supplies at ZaQuandre White’s alma mater

Though the Miami Dolphins’ 2022 season is in full swing, that does not mean that players on the team aren’t taking time to make sure to give back to the Florida community.

Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida late last month, and it has already been labeled one of the most costly storms in United States history.

Modeling firm RMS recently estimated that Ian has probably caused $53 billion to $74 billion in insured losses, with the best estimate coming in at $67 billion.

That would put Ian as the second-most costly storm in the nation’s history behind only Hurricane Katrina when adjusted for inflation.

For that reason, a lot of Florida natives are hurting. Luckily, it looks like some Dolphins players are lending helping hands.

It’s truly special to see members of the Dolphins organization go out into the community and help those in need. It’s a great reminder that some things are bigger than football.

When it comes to the football side of things, the Dolphins are definitely going through a bit of an early season trial. After starting 3-0 on the season, the Dolphins have dropped two straight.

Of course, the team is dealing with the absence of starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after he left the team’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals with a scary head injury.

While he seems to be progressing positively, the timetable related to his return is still unknown.

To make matters even more difficult, a large number of other key Dolphins players are now also dealing with injuries of their own. Xavien Howard missed Sunday’s game versus the New York Jets, and Tyreek Hill and Terron Armstead are also dealing with injuries.

Up next, the Dolphins will host a Minnesota Vikings squad that seems to be gaining momentum and confidence with each passing week. The Vikings currently own a 4-1 record on the season.

Though that big game is looming, it’s still great to see that Dolphins players want to give back to the community in whatever way they can.
