Report: Bettor places huge wager on former Dolphins WR Will Fuller to lead NFL in receiving TDs this season

Last season, the Miami Dolphins hoped that wide receiver Will Fuller would be a major piece of their offense.

What instead took place was a highly disappointing season for Fuller in which he suited up in just two games.

In those games, he recorded four catches for 26 yards total. He broke his thumb in Week 4 and missed the rest of the season.

Despite that, one bettor reportedly placed a $1,500 bet on Fuller to lead the league in touchdown receptions this season.

The only problem is that at the moment, Fuller is a free agent.

It’s hard to imagine why anyone would think this is a good bet.

Fuller has been a solid player when he’s been healthy, but he’s never been a touchdown machine. In the 2020 season, Fuller scored eight touchdowns through the air to set the top mark of his career in that category.

To put things in perspective, the NFL leader in touchdown receptions that season was Davante Adams, who had 18 such scores with the Green Bay Packers.

At the moment, it is unclear where Fuller will play this season. There has been some chatter about teams having interest in him, but no deal has materialized yet.

It’s possible he’ll sign a deal with a team sometime in the coming weeks.

However, even if Fuller does find himself on an NFL roster before the regular season starts, he might not be given the playing time necessary to lead the league in receiving scores.
