Report: Miami Dolphins have explored trading Preston Williams and Lynn Bowden Jr.

The Miami Dolphins have already made a slew of moves this offseason, and they may not be finished.

According to a recent report, the Dolphins have explored trading wide receivers Preston Williams and Lynn Bowden Jr.

“Speaking of the Dolphins, they’re one of the few teams that already seem to be involved in the pre–Week 1 trade market,” Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported. “Things should heat up once injuries start to occur and preseason games start to be played. But Miami’s already at work here with a surplus at a prominent position. They’ve talked to other teams about potentially moving veteran receivers Preston Williams and Lynn Bowden Jr. “

Without a doubt, the Dolphins have plenty of talent at the receiver position now. That was not the case for many years, but the Dolphins now have what many consider to be the fastest receiving duo in the league.

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle will lead the group in the upcoming season, and there are plenty of solid options behind those two players.

That could leave Bowden or Williams as the odd man out to get regular playing time.

Last season, Williams finished with six receptions for 71 yards and zero scores. It was the least productive season of his career by far.

Bowden last played in the 2020 season. He finished that campaign with 28 receptions for 211 yards and zero scores.

Those numbers could easily fall for both players given the additions made by the Dolphins this offseason.

One question that does remain is what the Dolphins would want in return if they did end up dealing Williams or Bowden.

Given the fact that they were just stripped of two future draft picks, it stands to reason that future picks would be at the top of their wish list.
