One of the new sports coming to the Olympics in the 2028 games in Los Angeles is none other than the game of flag football.
Furthermore, NFL players will be allowed to compete in the sport, though no more than two players on any one of the league’s 32 teams are eligible to play for Team USA, and folks shouldn’t count on seeing Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill represent the United States in that event.
While speaking to reporters, Hill admitted that he would rather compete in track and field in the upcoming Olympics than flag football. He also said that he has a 100-meter race planned for next month.
Tyreek Hill says he would try for 2028 Olympics but heโd prefer to do it in track rather than flag football.

Hill has long traded trash talk with American track and field star Noah Lyles, who has three Olympic medals under his belt. He’s earned two bronze medals in the men’s 200 meters, one in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and another one more recently in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The crowning achievement of his Olympic career so far might be the gold medal he earned in the men’s 100 meters in Paris not that long ago.
Despite all of the comments made by the two regarding who would win in a hypothetical race, the two star athletes in their respective sports have yet to face off. However, at least Hill has indicated that he wants to race Lyles after his 100-meter race around the middle of June.
In a move that’s only added to the anticipation, Lyles hinted in the past that should the two speedsters race, he won’t be taking it easy on the NFL star. He told NBC News that in brief phone conversations he had with Hill, he let the 31-year-old Super Bowl champion know that he wasn’t talking trash just for fun.
Hopefully, Hill and Lyles will soon finally be able to give sports fans what they have been clamoring for and square off in a race. But at the same time, folks maybe shouldn’t get their hopes up that they will anytime soon, as rumors have floated about Hill and Lyles racing for quite some time.
