Report: Melvin Ingram visiting Miami Dolphins on Tuesday
- Updated: April 12, 2022

The Miami Dolphins have already had a fairly impressive offseason, and it sounds as though there is a chance for it to get even more exciting.
According to a report on Tuesday, defensive end Melvin Ingram is visiting the Dolphins.
Interesting free agent visit for the #Dolphins: Former #Chiefs pass-rusher Melvin Ingram is visiting today, per me and @TomPelissero. He came on strong last year in KC, now a potential addition in Miami.

Ingram is no longer the star he was back when he made three straight Pro Bowl appearances, but he still has the talent to make an impact on the defensive side of the ball.
Last season, Ingram spent time with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs. He seemed to get better as the season went on. He started seven games (six for the Chiefs) and played in 15 total.
He finished the season with 25 combined tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks.
For the Dolphins this offseason, their top focus has certainly been on offense. After all, newly acquired head coach Mike McDaniel is known to be something of an offensive mastermind. Beyond that, the team is determined to give young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa every chance possible to succeed.
That fact was especially evident when the Dolphins completed a blockbuster trade for superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Now, Miami’s offense has a chance to be one of the most explosive in the NFL.
As for the team’s defense, it’s still loaded with talented players, and adding Ingram would definitely be another step in the right direction.
After two straight seasons of just missing out on the playoffs, the Dolphins are looking to get over the hump in the 2022 campaign. Their exciting offseason is certainly going to help them in that pursuit.
