Report: Miami Dolphins make intriguing new addition to coaching staff

1 Min Read

A new report indicates that the Miami Dolphins are expected to make a key addition to their coaching staff with the hiring of offensive line coach Matt Applebaum.

Applebaum has primarily coached at the collegiate level, though he does have past NFL experience.

New Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is making an effort to quickly fill out his staff, with Los Angeles Chargers offensive line coach Frank Smith reportedly a candidate for the team’s offensive coordinator position.

Applebaum’s role will be an important one, since the players he coaches will be tasked with protecting Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins have narrowly missed out on the playoffs in each of the past two seasons.
