The Miami Dolphins have a new head coach in Mike McDaniel, and it seems like he’s already getting along well with Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

The two were able to FaceTime with each other recently, and the moment was caught on camera.

It’s great to see that McDaniel and Tagovailoa are starting to build a relationship. After all, they’re both going to be key pieces for the Dolphins as the organization looks to make it back to the postseason for the first time since the 2016 campaign.

Miami is coming off two straight winning seasons, but it wasn’t able to secure a playoff spot in either of those years.

The team fired Brian Flores after going 9-8 this season and wound up hiring McDaniel after a lengthy search. McDaniel most recently spent time with the San Francisco 49ers as their offensive coordinator. He held that position for one season.

The 38-year-old has won over many Dolphins fans already with his personality. It seems like many Dolphins fans are happy with the move to hire him.

Tagovailoa is reportedly expected to be Miami’s starting quarterback for the 2022 season, and McDaniel is apparently “very high” on the 23-year-old.

Over the past couple of seasons, the Dolphins have really struggled on offense. Bringing in an offensive-minded coach like McDaniel should help in that regard. The team’s defense is already pretty solid and doesn’t need as much work as the offense.

This season, Tagovailoa appeared in a total of 13 games and completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 2,653 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also threw 10 interceptions.
