Report: Tom Brady was quarterback Stephen Ross wanted Brian Flores to tamper with and recruit

Tom Brady reportedly was the quarterback that Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross wanted former head coach Brian Flores to bring to the Dolphins.

In Flores’ lawsuit against the NFL, it is mentioned that Ross wanted Flores to tamper to bring a certain quarterback to the Dolphins in free agency.

Flores reportedly refused to do so, even after Ross tried to set up an impromptu meeting on his yacht.

According to Dolphins journalist Joe Schad, Brady was indeed the quarterback that Ross wanted Flores to meet.

Brady and Flores have a connection, as Flores was a coach for the New England Patriots during some of Brady’s tenure with the team.

Brady became a free agent and eventually chose to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He went on to lead them to a Super Bowl title in the 2020 season.

It’s no surprise that Ross wanted Flores to help bring Brady to Miami, but it is clear that Flores didn’t want to bend the rules to do so.

Flores spent the past three seasons with Miami, leading the Dolphins to two winning seasons. The Dolphins did not make the playoffs during Flores’ tenure, but they were close in the 2020 season.

Miami ended up falling short of the postseason in the 2020 season after losing to the Buffalo Bills in the final week of the regular season.

Over his three seasons in Miami, Flores compiled a 24-25 record and won 10 games in the 2020 season after going 5-11 in his first season as the team’s head coach.

Dolphins fans can only wonder how the team’s future may have changed had Brady signed in Miami rather than Tampa Bay.
