Report: Mike McDaniel continues to ‘crush it’ with the Miami Dolphins

It’s a big weekend for Mike McDaniel, whose San Francisco 49ers are one win away from advancing to the Super Bowl.

But regardless of how San Francisco’s season ends, it seems like the future is bright for McDaniel. He’s getting noticed around the league for his role in running an impressive 49ers offense, and as a result, he could land a head coaching job in the near future.

He’s on the Miami Dolphins’ radar, and according to a recent report, he’s continuing to “crush it” with them. The Dolphins are looking for their next head coach after letting go of Brian Flores.

One of Miami’s top candidates for the vacancy came off the board on Friday when the New York Giants snagged Brian Daboll.

If McDaniel were to land with Miami, it would be very interesting to see if he could help turn around a Dolphins offense that was largely unimpressive during the 2021 regular season. Miami averaged just 20.1 points per game.

The Dolphins are looking to turn a corner after missing the playoffs again this season. Although Miami has had two straight winning seasons, the organization hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2016 campaign.

There have certainly been some positive developments in recent years, but so far, it hasn’t been enough to get Miami over the hump.

The hope is that there are brighter days ahead, and whoever becomes the team’s next head coach will likely play a major role in whether or not the Dolphins become legitimate contenders anytime soon.
