Miami Dolphins coach offers an interesting response on if Austin Jackson can be a good NFL guard

Miami Dolphins offensive line coach Lemuel Jeanpierre didn’t reveal why offensive lineman Austin Jackson briefly left Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

He also gave an interesting response when asked if he thinks Jackson can become a good NFL guard.

The Dolphins fell to the Titans on Sunday 34-3, putting an end to their seven-game win streak.

Jackson was taken with the 18th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft from the University of Southern California. Before Sunday’s matchup with the Titans, Jackson had seen 100 percent of the offensive snaps in every game for Miami since Week 2.

Jeanpierre will have one more week of game footage to evaluate Jackson from, as the Dolphins are set to close the season out against the New England Patriots at home this week. The Dolphins will look to end their season on a high note against their division rivals.

Miami had a rough start to the season, starting off 1-7. The team then went on to win seven straight contests to get itself back into the playoff picture.

The Dolphins and Jackson will certainly look to build off a strong end to the season and pick back up where they left off at the start of the next campaign.

Jackson has struggled throughout his two seasons in the league. He even made a position change from left tackle to left guard this season.

Depending on how evaluations of Jackson’s performance on the offensive line for Miami go after the season ends, the young lineman will look to continue to grow heading into his third season in the NFL.
