At several points during this season, it seemed like the Miami Dolphins would be missing out on the postseason yet again.
However, after pulling together six consecutive wins, Miami now has a chance of ending a very long playoff drought. Dolphins insider Barry Jackson explained the scenario of how the team can punch its way to the postseason or at least the wild card playoffs.
Remember, Dolphins very likely make playoffs if they win out and Buffalo beats NE today. Otherwise, Fins less than 50 % chance and likely would need to beat out Chargers and AFC North 2nd and 3rd place teams for one remaining wild card spot unless there are big upsets.

The Dolphins started the 2021 campaign on a good note after defeating the New England Patriots by one point in the season opener. However, it was all downhill from there as Miami lost its next seven games.
At 1-7, the team looked like it was on its way to another disappointing season. But Miami has turned things around and reached the .500 mark again after rallying past the New York Jets 31-24 in Week 15. The game was a nail-biter as the teams were tied heading into the fourth quarter.
Miami will face the New Orleans Saints on Monday. After that match, the Dolphins will have another road game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 17 before finally heading home to round out the season versus the New England Patriots.
The organization and its fans are hopeful that it can close out this season strong in order to end the drought.
