The Miami Dolphins got a bit of recognition on Wednesday when cornerback Xavien Howard was named to the Pro Bowl.
Howard, 28, will be making his third trip to the game, his last coming after the 2020 season.
Through 13 games this season, he has put up four interceptions, 40 tackles (31 solo) and 14 passes defended. He was the subject of multiple trade rumors, but he has remained an integral part of the team.
Thanks in part to his efforts, the Fins are 7-7 and are in the hunt for one of the AFC’s three wild card playoff spots.
The 2021 season started in disastrous fashion for Miami, as it lost seven of its first eight games and was presumed to be dead in the water.
But as of this writing, it is on a six-game winning streak.
During the streak, second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has stepped up his game and is starting to flash the potential many in the organization always felt he has.
The Dolphins are also getting healthier as the NFL playoffs approach.
Standout rookie wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and running back Phillip Lindsay have recently been activated after being placed in health and safety protocols.
The Dolphins will take on a tough New Orleans Saints team on Monday.
