Report: Miami Dolphins to work out former All-SEC linebacker

It sounds like the Miami Dolphins are going to work out a former college standout this week.

Linebacker Erroll Thompson, who made a name for himself at Mississippi State University, is reportedly going to get a chance to show his potential to the Dolphins.

Thompson played in four total seasons at Mississippi State. During his time there, he racked up 125 solo tackles, 187 assisted tackles and 10 sacks. He also totaled three interceptions, four passes defended, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

He led the Bulldogs to multiple bowl victories during his time with the program. He definitely left his mark on the university.

He’s still trying to prove his worth at the NFL level, however, and he certainly seems to have a good opportunity in front of him with the Dolphins. Time will tell if he can capitalize on it.

Miami is clearly always open to adding new talent, even when the regular season is nearing a close. The Dolphins have four games remaining, and they’re going to need to finish strong if they want to have a chance at cracking the playoffs.

Currently, Miami has a 6-7 record, and the team is riding a five-game win streak. The Dolphins would pull their record back to .500 with a win over the lowly New York Jets in their next game. If that happens, the final three games of the Dolphins’ regular season will carry huge playoff implications.

The Dolphins are trying to make the postseason for the first time since the 2016 campaign.
