It has been a rough season for the New York Giants, who currently hold a 4-7 record.
They’re looking to get a win over the Miami Dolphins this weekend, but it sounds like that’s going to be a tall task. The Giants will reportedly be without several key players for the contest.
Quarterback Daniel Jones is out, and Mike Glennon is expected to get the starting nod. That’s certainly not an ideal situation for New York. Glennon has appeared in one game this season. In that contest, he threw one touchdown and two interceptions.
The Giants will be without Adoree’ Jackson as well. He has seven passes defended and an interception to his credit this season. That’s a substantial loss for a New York defense that has been pretty average throughout the 2021 campaign.
Kaden Smith and Trent Harris will also be out, but those losses are less notable. The Giants also have a handful of key players listed as doubtful or questionable.
Time will tell if the Dolphins can capitalize on the fact that the Giants are shorthanded. Miami needs every win it can get at this stage of the season.
The Dolphins are starting to get some respect in the playoff conversation, but there’s still plenty of work to be done. The squad is 5-7 and has won four straight contests.
A win over the Giants would be another step in the right direction, but a loss would be a massive setback.
After this matchup with New York, the Dolphins have their bye week. They’ll face the New York Jets after that.
