Miami Dolphins legend Zach Thomas has been named a Pro Football Hall of Fame semifinalist for a fourth consecutive year.

This doesn’t come as a major surprise, as many folks expected Thomas to reach this point in the process again. The 48-year-old is looking to finally get over the hump and become a Hall of Famer once and for all.

Thomas spent 13 seasons at the NFL level, and 12 of them came with the Dolphins. His only season wearing a different uniform came at the very end of his career, as he spent one year with the Dallas Cowboys.

Throughout his career, he racked up 20.5 sacks and 74 tackles for loss. In total, he registered 1,107 solo tackles and 627 assists on tackles.

Thomas led the league in combined tackles twice during his playing days. He also forced 16 fumbles and recovered eight.

The seven-time Pro Bowler racked up 48 passes defended and 17 interceptions throughout his carer, four of which he returned for touchdowns.

Thomas spent his collegiate years at Texas Tech University and did enough during his time there to turn some heads. The Dolphins selected him in the fifth round of the 1996 NFL Draft, which ended up being a great decision for all involved parties.

Although Thomas was never able to win a Super Bowl title before he called it quits on his playing career, he accomplished a lot. He’s surely proud of the career he had. Only time will tell if he ends up making it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this time around.
