Report: Miami Dolphins receiver DeVante Parker has been ‘discussed’ as trade candidate

According to a report, Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker has been “discussed” as a potential trade candidate ahead of the upcoming trade deadline.

Teams have until Nov. 2 to make deals.

“Pass catchers are always at a premium, and there are a few names out there along those lines,” wrote Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. “Dolphins WR DeVante Parker, Giants WR Darius Slayton and TE Evan Engram, and Cardinals WR Andy Isabella have been discussed. The [New Orleans] Saints and [Detroit] Lions are among the teams I’ve heard are looking for help at receiver.”

With the Dolphins realistically out of playoff contention, fans should probably prepare for the possibility of Miami trading away some of its stars. Nothing is guaranteed, of course, but a major deadline sell is seemingly on the table.

Parker has spent his entire NFL career with the Dolphins since being drafted by the organization in 2015. His best season so far came in 2019, when he racked up 1,202 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

This season, the 28-year-old has only appeared in four games due to injuries. He has reeled in 17 passes for 242 yards and a score. He hasn’t seen game action since Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts.

There are surely some contending teams out there who could use Parker’s services, but it remains to be seen if the University of Louisville product will actually get moved.

If he does, it’s probably a safe bet that Miami will get a nice return. Only time will tell how the situation unfolds.
