According to a report, the Miami Dolphins are signing veteran running back Duke Johnson to their practice squad.
Johnson hasn’t appeared in a game this season. He’ll look to get to work with the Dolphins and prove his worth.
The 28-year-old was originally a third-round pick. He has completed six seasons at the NFL level — four with the Cleveland Browns and two with Houston Texans.
Arguably the best season of his career so far came in the 2019 campaign. That season, he racked up a career-best 410 rushing yards, and he also ran for two touchdowns. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry along the way. He also reeled in three touchdowns through the air.
It’ll be interesting to see if Johnson can impress some folks in the Dolphins organization. If he does, perhaps he could find himself thrust into a legitimate role.
