Elandon Roberts explains why Miami Dolphins have ‘no panic’ despite 1-3 start to season

Miami Dolphins linebacker Elandon Roberts recently explained why the team isn’t panicking despite its 1-3 start to the 2021 season.

“Just no panic,” he said. “We believe in the formula. We believe in the coaches. We believe in the locker room. You can’t panic this early in the season. I’ve seen people start out 5-0 and now you don’t make the playoffs. Around this time, the only people that usually panic are [the media] and whatnot. That’s why we ignore the noise outside of the building and just continue to do what we do, and that’s take it one day at a time. Once we start stringing things together, we’ll be just fine.”

Panicking certainly isn’t a productive thing to do, but the Dolphins likely understand that they have to move with a sense of urgency for the remainder of the year. The team can’t afford to lose many more games if it wants to make the playoffs.

Roberts has appeared in all four games for Miami this season. So far, he has two passes defended and an interception that he returned for a touchdown. He also has 10 solo tackles, seven assists on tackles and a forced fumble to his credit.

The Dolphins have a tough matchup on deck this weekend, as they’re set to face the defending Super Bowl champions in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A win would surely go a long way for Miami’s confidence.

After the game against Tampa Bay, the Dolphins’ schedule will start to lighten up for the remainder of the year. It wouldn’t be impossible for the team to get hot and become a factor in the playoff race.
