The fact that he is questionable to return should come as fantastic news for Dolphins fans. The injury looked pretty severe in the immediate aftermath.
Still, it is unclear when Tagovailoa will be able to return.
Even though he is just 23 years old, Tagovailoa has had a notable injury history.
He suffered a season-ending injury in 2019 at the University of Alabama. That partly led to him sliding down various draft boards. The Dolphins ultimately drafted him with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
If Tagovailoa does miss significant time, reserve quarterback Jacoby Brissett will slide into the starting role.
