Report: Houston Texans still want offer they ‘cannot refuse’ to trade Deshaun Watson

Disgruntled star Deshaun Watson has been persistently linked to the Miami Dolphins.

However, according to a report, the Houston Texans are not likely to trade away the quarterback anytime soon. Despite the disturbing sexual assault allegations that Watson is currently embroiled in, the Texans are still waiting to receive an offer they “cannot refuse” to move the star.

“As of now, there is no trade imminent for the Texans with their embattled star quarterback Deshaun Watson,” Tom Pelissero reported. “Hypothetically, that could change today if Houston gets the type of huge offer that it cannot refuse, but the more likely scenario, as of now, is we’re talking about Watson’s football future for weeks and months to come.”

Rumors that Miami is considered a strong candidate to land Watson have been puzzling to some Dolphins fans, especially since the team already has promising quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on the roster.

Dolphins coach Brian Flores has already addressed the speculation and called for his team “to block that stuff out and play.” He has also expressed that the organization only wants people with high character.

The statement possibly serves as a message that Miami is not that keen on acquiring Watson. The 25-year-old has been at the center of serious legal issues that have not been resolved yet.

Watson is clearly better than Tagovailoa now. He is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and led the league in passing yards last season. But Tagovailoa has only one season under his belt and can still develop his game.
