Report: Update offered on severity of Miami Dolphins tight end Hunter Long’s injury
- Updated: August 10, 2021
Miami Dolphins rookie tight end Hunter Long was carted off the field with an apparent injury during practice on Sunday.
Initially, it was not known how long he would be out, but a new report has given some clarity on his injury.
I spoke with one source who said Dolphins TE Hunter Long’s injury is not believed to be season-ending. So it does sound as if it may not be as bad as appeared when Long was carted off with a lower-body injury Sunday.

The Dolphins selected Long in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. During his collegiate career at Boston College, the 22-year-old caught 89 passes for 1,297 yards and nine touchdowns.
Thankfully, Long’s injury does not seem like it will hold him out of his entire rookie campaign.
Miami’s first game of the preseason is on Aug. 14 against the Chicago Bears.
