Report: Miami Dolphins offensive rookie carted off field after apparent injury

1 Min Read

The Miami Dolphins might be down a body when the 2021 NFL season starts next month.

Rookie tight end Hunter Long was seen leaving the practice field on a cart on Sunday.

The extent of the injury is still unclear. But according to a report, Long was hit by safety Nate Holley who was attempting to make a play on a pass by quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

The Dolphins have been hit hard by the injury bug lately. Several players have already missed time during training camp, including DeVante Parker, Will Fuller and Xavien Howard.

Long figured to be a key role in Miami’s offense moving forward. After all, the team drafted him in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft even if it already had others playing the position.

The 22-year-old had a solid collegiate career. In his last year at Boston College, he recorded 57 receptions for 685 yards and five touchdowns.

Hopefully, his injury is not as bad as it looks, but considering the way he left the field, it could be serious.
