It seems that the stalemate between the Miami Dolphins and star cornerback Xavien Howard has finally ended.
According to a recent report, the franchise has finally agreed to restructure Howard’s contract.
The past months have been full of tension for the Dolphins organization.
After a terrific 2020 season, Howard made his displeasure with his current contract known and eventually asked to be traded late in July.
However, Miami had the leverage in the dispute since Howard had four years left on his contract. The team also signified its intent to keep the 2020 first-team All-Pro in a Dolphins uniform.
On Saturday, Howard was reportedly a full participant at Miami’s practice, signaling a step in the right direction towards both parties finally reaching a compromise.
Now that his holdout is over, they can finally focus on getting back to playoff contention next season.
