The Miami Dolphins got some tough news over the weekend, as co-offensive coordinator George Godsey was reportedly sent home after testing positive for COVID-19.
It appears that Godsey tested positive for the virus despite being fully vaccinated. It is unclear if there are additional cases for the Dolphins at this time, but precautions will be taken to avoid any further spread.
Godsey has been with the organization since 2019, and he will be missed while he is away from the team. He is a crucial member of the coaching staff. As long as all goes well, he should be fine to return in plenty of time for the season.
The Dolphins are looking to make the playoffs in the 2021 season after narrowly missing out in the 2020 campaign. If they want to accomplish that goal, they are going to need all hands on deck.
It has been a relatively turbulent past couple of weeks for the organization. The team has dealt with some injury concerns, and superstar Xavien Howard recently requested a trade.
