The honor likely doesn’t come as a major surprise to anyone who watched Waddle at the collegiate level. Over three seasons at the University of Alabama, the explosive wide receiver was consistently one of the best players in the nation.
The Dolphins selected Waddle with the No. 6 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The organization has high hopes for his potential impact in his first season with the team. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was teammates with Waddle at Alabama, so the two players have a history together.
It will be very intriguing to see if Tagovailoa and Waddle are able to pick up where they left off.
The Dolphins are hoping to crack the playoffs in the 2021 season after narrowly missing out in the 2020 campaign.
