Jaylen Waddle and Jerome Baker offer much-needed support after Surfside building collapse
- Updated: June 25, 2021
Two young Miami Dolphins players have been putting in work during the 2021-22 offseason, both on and away from the field.
Linebacker Jerome Baker joined Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins’ rookie wide receiver, to assist families in the Miami community recently affected by a collapsed condo in Surfside, Fla. The collapse has left more than 150 people missing and has left even more currently without a home.

Baker and Waddle focused their efforts on providing resources to Florida residents staying at the Surfside reunification center, delivering water and other supplies to families and individuals who have been displaced from their homes due to the collapse.
In addition to Baker and Waddle, other athletes from the Miami area have spent time assisting the collapse victims. Tyler Herro of the Miami Heat was seen on June 24, also bringing resources to people at the reunification center.
